NAPAAHC Trustee Dr. Makola Abdullah to become 14th President of Virginia State University

Trustee Makola M. Abdullah, Ph.D. has been named President of Virginia State University following his introduction to the campus community on December 11. Dr. Abdullah currently serves as Provost and Chief Academic Officer for Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. The youngest African-American to earn a PhD in Engineering from Northwestern University, Dr. Abdullah previously held the positions of Provost for Florida Memorial University and Dean of the College of Engineering Sciences, Technology and Agriculture at Florida A&M University.
